For the last several posts in my "Adventures in Styling", I've been featuring the styling sessions I've done with guys, but to build a balanced portfolio, I'm going to need to show that I'm capable of styling women as well.
To help out with this, I gave a call to some of the girls I know to help model the looks that I put together. First off, I put some looks on Erin.

Erin
Erin is the photographer behind The Vestiary, a tumblr that features unique looks from the local Edmonton area. She's used to working behind the camera, but for this session I flipped things on her and put her in the camera lens with help from BCBG. All of the staff at BCBG were very helpful, with special thanks to Robbie and Mariah, who helped walk me through all of the product in the store. Pretty much everything I used here is available on the BCBG website.
Let's check out the first look:

Let's check out the first look:
The first look I put together I wanted to create an elegant evening look for a summer's night out. I went with a jacquard shift dress and silk print wrap to add a layer of interest. I put together accessories united by a tan colour, keeping a summer evening in mind. To this end, I used the beaded-fringe evening sandals paired with the tan embossed leather clutch.
Let's have a look at the next outfit:
Let's have a look at the next outfit:
For this second look, I put together a cosmopolitan outfit for a windy summer day. The anchor for this piece was this really cool trenchcoat they had there (I've linked to it here so you can see the back details). Both the top and pants are white, a simple button-down and skinny white jeans, but I've belted the jacket using a snake-embossed belt to enhance the look's shape and define the waist. I used a sequined shoulder bag to add some more glamour, in white to pair with the top and pants, and then I used snake-embossed sandals to pair with the belt and create contrast with the skinny white jeans.
Let's check out the last look:
Let's check out the last look:
For this final look, I wanted to do something a little more glam punk for a night out on the town. Every item in this look has attitude: I started with the silk print top. The pattern reminded me of snake skin, so I kept the aggressive motif going with skinny leather pants and a pair of black python-embossed pumps. To add some glamour, I had Erin put on a tuxedo jacket, and paired it with a silver sequined clutch and white fedora with a black band.
Thanks again to Erin for letting me style her for my portfolio, and in my next post I'll be styling my friend Saniya in a completely different sort of look.
Also, I've created a facebook page that can help you follow the contest if I'm selected as a finalist. Please like it below, as it will help with the judges:
